Investing in your Future
Scholarships
Your application for admission serves as your application for all academic/merit-based scholarships. Notifications of general academic scholarships are sent on a rolling basis through the admissions cycle. Notification regarding other awards – including Performance-Based, Leadership or Endowed scholarships and Belmont’s most competitive, named-scholarships-are mailed as decisions are made, typically by late January.
General merit awards for freshman range from $3,000 to $12,000 annually. The most competitive scholarships represent approximately the top two percent of the freshman applicant pool and require submission of all application materials by December 1. General merit scholarships do not require the December 1 deadline; admitted freshman are considered for these awards on a rolling basis.
Transfer student merit awards range from $2,500 to $7,500 a year and are awarded and mailed through the admissions cycle, from September through August. Merit awards are based on a cumulative GPA at the time of application submission, with a minimum GPA of 3.20 for consideration.
Financial Aid
To be eligible to receive any form of need-based aid, freshman applicants should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by priority filing deadlines of December 1 for Fall and November 1 for the Spring. Visit studentaid.gov to complete the form online. Indicate Belmont’s Title IV code on your application – 003479 – to ensure that our Office of Student Financial Services receives your Student Aid Report.
After your FAFSA has been processed, you will receive an email regarding your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor, which you should review carefully to ensure accuracy. Belmont’s Office of Student Financial Services begin awarding for the upcoming year in January 2023.
